Message	The contact patch for a 225/50RF16 with a load of 744lbs at 36psi is 41.3 inches squared. The contact patch of a 255/50ZR16 with a load of 745lbs at 36psi is 57.5inches squared. Not only does the tread width increase with size, the diameter also increases rolling surface area. Diameter of 225/50RF16 24.9 inches, diameter of a 255/50ZR16 is 26.1 inches. Values do change with different manufactures, psi, and load.
